The Weirdos Wander Again

A truck and a camper

It’s been a minute since I updated the blog! We had a few more camping trips since then, but nothing too exciting. I spent a couple of weeks by myself (with weekend visits from Jamey) in Okoboji while working remotely and discovered my new favorite campground and campsite at Marble Beach. Right on the water with full hookups, it was amazing!

We took the camper to Shawano, Wisconsin for my cousins wedding. I only took a couple of pictures – beer of course, and Jamey dumping the tanks while wearing his “I pooped today” shirt. I crack myself up.

And we spent our final trip of the year in Alexandria enjoy a beautiful weekend surrounded by fall colors.

Toby has gotten awfully, terribly old. We bought a wagon for him so he can still come along on adventures. I love him so much. How will I live without him?

We followed the CDC guidelines and stayed home for the holidays. It was lonely, sad and different. We’re looking forward to a vaccinated future with families again. At least with only two of us to feed, we ate very well! Of course, I posed the boys for Christmas, but neither of them were interested in cooperating this year. Stinkers.

I traveled to Alabama with my sisters for our brothers wedding. It was beautiful and great to have all five siblings together again. It was also a little weird traveling during COVID, but we couldn’t let a global pandemic keep us from this big day!

I also traveled to Ft. Meyers, Florida for a work photoshoot. I was well armed with plenty of N-95s. The weather was glorious – I was thrilled to be there while Jamey was home during the deepest days of the polar vortex. Of course I sent him photos of the ocean and the temperature each day! Some days, I love my job!

And there is light at the end of the tunnel! We have COVID-19 vaccines available. Jamey is fully vaccinated and I’m getting my shot today!

Finally, the really big news is we’re taking a month long road trip! Since I work remotely, and Jamey can work in most major cities, we’re enjoying our freedom to explore! Stay tuned as we travel to Washington, DC, Savannah, New Orleans, and Nashville.

I’ll keep the Instagram updated frequently, and try to give weekly updates on our stops here. It’s going to be epic!

Do you have recommendations on the places we must visit, eat, drink, see or do? Please, leave them in the comments!

Stay safe out there fellow weirdos. Wash your hands, wear your mask, get your vaccine and keep wandering!
