Farewell

Published by Sam on

Well friends, I’m turning off the blog.

While we’ve decided not to buy the condo and stay seasonal in Okoboji one more year, I don’t have the energy or interest to keep up this blog. It’s been a fun way to track our travels and share more than an Instagram post. But now that we only ever go to ‘Boji, we do the same 5 things: boat, bike, eat at the Gardens, visit West-O and hangout by the fire. Sure, that’s fun, but it is not interesting.

So I’m going to end my hosting and stop publishing new content.

Thanks for joining us over the past 6 years. From our very first camper, to the purchase of the Transcend. From learning camping was the fountain of youth for Toby, to losing both boys on the same day. From the next generation of Wandering Weirdo pups to buying a new home and parking the camper permanently.

Camping has been my therapy, my happy place, and the single best way to explore and still bring home along. I miss camping so much. I don’t think we’re done with it forever. But we are done going new places for now.

We’re stuck in Okoboji. For Jamey, it’s a dream come true. For me, it’s … fine. I’m neither happy or unhappy about it. I’d rather be camping, but that’s just not very feasible right now.

If you need me, I’ll be spending the winter enjoying all the space and comforts of home.
